September 2022

Start of term message from John Awty

We hope to welcome as many of you back as possible to our first meeting. It has been advertised as a 7.30 p.m. start but those of you in the know will recall, we usually meet a little earlier on the first session to collect in and hand out the music. The Church should be open at 7.00 p.m.

  • Malcolm has requested that as many of you pay subs on line as possible as we are still with HSBC and cheques and cash are expensive to process. This term the subs remain at £40 per person.
  • Julia reminds you that we are singing the Magnum Mysterium at the Christmas concert so you do not need to rub this out. All other music needs to be rubbed out please and returned ASAP. If you are not singing with us this term then drop us an e-mail to this effect and arrange to return the scores to us promptly. This will help Julia immensely with designating numbered scores to any new members who come along.
  • I am attaching Justin’s programme for rehearsals for September in a variety of formats for you.
  • There are also roadworks in Harleston town centre until after our Christmas Concert. I attach a map and directions also in a variety of formats. Unfortunately, the position of the works seems to change quite frequently. At the time of writing this e-mail, access TO the London Road Church and the Factory shop car park is possible from both Bungay direction and Diss direction as well as down Swan Lane (from Starston direction). The problems are when leaving rehearsal, heading back to Bungay direction. Hopefully, the attached maps with directions should help.
